Declassified U.S. government documents and testimony from U.S. military veterans reveal that UFOs have monitored and sometimes tampered with American nuclear weapons since the late 1940s. Seven of those veterans discussed their knowledge of such incidents at my CNN-streamed press conference on September 27, 2010:
Over the past 39 years I have located and interviewed more than 130 ex-Air Force, Army and Navy personnel who were involved in these cases. Several of the incidents reportedly involved a UFO directing one or more beams of light down onto ICBM launch sites or nuclear Weapons Storage Areas (WSAs). Depending on the specific case, some of the beams appeared laser-like, others seemed to be searchlights, while the 1977 incident described below allegedly involved a bright, white "starburst" that briefly enveloped a security commander at Loring Air Force Base's WSA.
Declassified documents (see below) confirm that in the fall of 1975, a rash of UFO sightings and radar trackings occurred at various USAF Strategic Air Command (SAC) bases that hosted nuclear missile or bomber squadrons. Some of the UFOs were described in these records as "disc" shaped craft; others were logged as mystery helicopters.

At Loring AFB, Maine-home to the 42nd Bomb Wing's B-52 bombers-one such "helicopter" (as it was called in several documents) was later described by B-52 ground crew chief Sgt. Steven Eichner in a sworn affidavit as appearing like "an elongated football, as long as four cars, and reddish-orange in color...The object looked like all the colors were blending together, as [if] you were looking at a desert scene. You see waves of heat rising off the desert floor. This is what I saw. There were these waves in front of the object and all the colors were blending together. The object was solid and we could not hear any noise coming from it."
Some helicopter! As Eichner and the ground crew stared in disbelief, the object suddenly seemed to disappear and then quickly reappear at the north end of the runway, near the Weapons Storage Area, moving in an erratic, stop-and-start movement. If the declassified files are any indication, Eichner and his crew were never interviewed about their sighting, so the initial reports of an unidentified helicopter near the WSA were never updated.
Another UFO incident apparently occurred at the Loring WSA some two years later. Although no declassified document currently confirms the event, James M. Dunn, a former Senior Airman stationed at Loring in the late 1970s, told me this during a taped telephone conversation:
It probably happened in the early summer [of 1977]. I was K-9, with the 42nd Security Police Squadron. I was on the midnight shift and I was regularly assigned to the Weapons Storage Area, where they kept the nuclear weapons. I guess it was probably between one and three in the morning, a clear night, kind of warm. I was sitting in my gate shack, eating my 'bag-nasty'-these little packed lunches that were pretty bad.
All of a sudden, I got a call from Entry Control, the unit at the entry of the WSA, saying, 'Hey, K-9, or whatever code they used-I can't remember, K-2, K-4, whatever-can you go check on the area commander? We've got a bright light shining down into the Weapons Storage Area, at the north end of the battery.'
So, I climbed up on the grassy mound covering one of the weapons storage bunkers and looked north, in the direction of the entry to the WSA. Sure enough, I saw what looked like a bright light shining down onto his vehicle. Even my dog kind of reacted-he cocked his head a little bit. I cannot recall actually seeing a 'beam' of light-like a flashlight beam would be visible in the fog-but the light seemed to be pointed down to the vehicle at about a 45-degree angle.
The truck itself did not appear to be illuminated, but the interior of the cab seemed to glow a greenish hue, although the light itself was intensely white, bright, and had almost a starburst pattern to it. And then, poof, the light was out. Maybe it was five or six seconds [after I saw it].
So I started walking, really fast, up to where his truck was. Sergeant G
was just sitting there with a stunned, disbelieving look on his face, not reacting to me. So, after a few seconds, I said, 'Hey, Sarge, what was that?!'
He said, 'Dunn, did you see that?!' I said 'Yeah, what was it?' He said, 'Did you see anything?' We started looking around the sky. Nothing. There was no noise, dead silent. Even when the light was there, there was no noise at all. Totally quiet. Maybe four or five minutes later, two F-106 interceptors, from the tactical part of the base, came screaming over us, right over the Weapons Storage Area. The base had gotten some kind of bogey on their radar. Then we heard later that the thing was too fast, they couldn't get it, and it just disappeared.I asked Dunn, "Who told you that?" He replied, "Actually, I went over to the tactical guys, at the pilot bay, and they went, 'Negative contact on the bogey. Whatever it was, [it was] not anything we made.' Afterward, it was funny, ordinarily if anything comes close to the Weapons Storage Area, there's an alert, you know, because its nuclear weapons, but none of that happened."
Dunn continued, "I talked to the sarge later and he told me he had the feeling that [the light] wasn't a threat. It's kind of hard to explain but-he knew it was something intelligent-but not threatening. I had that feeling too, I don't know why. Even when I was standing next to his truck, just after the light disappeared, I knew that there was no threat to the weapons. I don't know why. It's funny. I can't explain it to you, but I knew and Sarge knew that there was no attack going on."
I asked Dunn, "Are you saying that you both just had a hunch that there was no threat or-" Dunn interrupted me and said, "Uh, it's a weird one, uh, I was trained to react as a K-9 security [guard], you know, you radio it in if you think it's important, but, uh, it's a hard one to explain, I can't really tell you why we, uh-we almost got the feeling of non-threat-and I can't explain that to you. It was a feeling of this is something beyond a threat, uh..."
Dunn was clearly flustered and, it seemed to me, hesitant to put his thoughts into words, so I asked, "What do you think that something was?" Dunn let out a long sigh and blurted out, "Okay, we thought it was alien. The sarge and I talked about it and we decided it was, uh, alien." Then, laughing, he said, "It's goofy, I know, but..."
I asked Dunn if he or the sergeant had seen a craft of any kind, or a black space in the sky where the stars had been hidden by an unlit aerial object. He said, "No, just the light. Uh, the sarge told me that he had the feeling that the light had some kind of intelligence, you know, beyond human. He felt-I don't know if the word 'communicated' is right-but he felt that something was imparting, uh, that's probably where he got the sense [that it was] non-threatening. He said that it was like something was saying, 'You're not in any harm,' or something like that."
I asked Dunn if he had had the same sense. He said, "Uh, no, not like "that". I had a feeling there was no threat involved, but not the sense that someone or something was telling me that. [Sarge] told me that he had the feeling, from the light, that he was being dissected almost, or studied. We talked about it later and that's what he said. I think that's when we both decided that it wasn't any [kind of aircraft] we make. We were saying, you know, 'Well, there's got to be aliens out there.' We had this one talk about it later on but, after that, he didn't seem to want to talk about it."
I asked Dunn if he and the sergeant had been debriefed. He said, "No! That was weird too! It was like everyone wanted to forget the incident. We were willing to talk about it, but no one asked us anything. The higher-ups-no one came to us and said, 'Don't say anything'-but they just didn't mention anything about it, you know, like just forget it. The sarge said the light was visible for maybe 15 seconds, and that it had illuminated the inside of his truck."
I asked Dunn if he or the sergeant had, at any time during the incident, seen the light fall directly on one of the weapons bunkers. He said, "I didn't see that, and [sarge] didn't say anything about it either." This particular question related to a reported incident at a U.S. Air Force Weapons Storage Area located at the RAF Bentwaters base in England, in December 1980, which I discussed in an earlier article.
In conclusion, among the reports of UFOs at nuclear weapons storage sites that I have received from military veterans over the years, this one was unique. To be sure, numerous accounts of alleged telepathic communication related to UFO encounters do indeed appear in the literature but, as far as I am aware, never in this context.

A few of us in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area (along with some from California and Arizona) are now planning to have a First "Underground Base" conference in the town of Dulce, New Mexico next March. The tentative date for this unusual conference right in the town of Dulce will be Sunday, March 29, from 10 a.m.
The location of this one-day conference will be the Best Western Jicarilla Inn. The conference room, unfortunately, can accommodate only about 25 people the most, but, with extra chairs, it is possible to squeeze in about 35 people. Anyway this unprecedented conference in Dulce is entitled: DULCE BASE, FACT OR FICTION?
We are planning, of course, to invite some of the residents of Dulce, including the families of former police chief, Raleigh Tafoya, along with the families of former Forest Ranger Dispatcher of Dulce, all of whom I got to know last year upon my second visit to Dulce.
The conference will be open to the public-at-large of Dulce, as well.
The decision to have a public announced "underground base" conference right in the town of Dulce came about because of the success of a 1991 Area 51 conference in Rachel, Nevada in which we invited the public-at-large, including anyone affiliated with the Groom Lake complex itself. That conference drew about 95 people, some of whom (anonymous, of course) could very well have been affiliated with the base. Similarly, in 1998 the first People's Rally at Area 51 was held right at the boundary line on Groom Lake road. It drew about 200 people from all over the U.S. as well as a few from Canada. It became a major news item in the Las Vegas Review Journal.
Within seven years of the Rally, the government admitted that the base exists officially and just last year, the government announced that compensation will be made to the workers who suffered from illness due to toxic chemicals.
Dulce, however, is a different story. So far, there has not been any solid, physical evidence whatsoever that there is a base near Dulce, such as deep under the Archuleta Mesa. It has all been hearsay. In fact, I would say that most of the 4000 townsfolk there do not believe that there is an underground base there. But, when it comes to UFOs, most of the population there believe in the sightings, since beginning with the mid-70's and lasting till the mid-80's, the entire town of Dulce was overwhelmed by frequent sightings of strange lights over the town. Not only that but many ranchers in the nearby communities began to report mysterious cattle mutilations during that time. Many Dulce officials attended the first Cattle Mutilations conference in Albuquerque in 1978, including then police chief, Raleigh Tafoya.
It was sometime during the mid-80s that rumors of an underground base surfaced...and still continues to this day, so much so that the entire town of Dulce has become associated with the alleged "underground base". Just do a Google search on Dulce, New Mexico and one can get untold number of items relevant to this topic.
Is the town of Dulce bothered by this unusual association with "underground base"? Probably, although the bulk of the townsfolk seem to take it all with a grain of salt. I have my own wild theory on this subject:
WAS DULCE, NEW MEXICO, A NUCLEAR WASTE DUMPING GROUND?
Upon my second visit to Dulce last year, I was quite surprised that in the gift shop at the Best Western Jicarilla Inn, there were a few T-shirts that said "Dulce, Home of the Underground Base", or something to that effect. In other words, some officials there may not mind if more people come there to spend some money, for example, at the casino there or for purchasing fishing and hunting licenses. Will it be good for a little tourism? However, will this conference put an end, once and for all, that there are no underground bases in or near Dulce? It will be fascinating.
The Inn will allow the use of the meeting room for a full day....and the entire total cost of the use of the meeting room is only 75. Therefore, the cost to the public will only be about 2 a person, if, let's say, 35 people show up. We will also invite local newspaper reporters, as well as some local TV news crew from Farmington.

We've dealt with the William Rhoades UFO photo from July 7th, 1947 at this blog and pass closer.
Anthony Bragalia has provided bang on the photo.
Hayden Hewes moreover evaluated the photos (two) in a "UFO Appear" article [October 1978, Call 40 ff.], from which the image more comes.
Show are innumerable elements in the Rhoades story that plan...
Untimely at hand is the date of the photos -- July 7th, 1947 -- the time manner of the Roswell incident. Rhoades took his photo(s) in Phoenix, Arizona everyplace he lived.
Men in Black, so it is said, visited Mr. Rhoades and superficially warned him about discussing the photos -- that "would be premeditated and act of espionage" they told him.
Air State numbers confirm that the military took the selflessness disobediently, as AF numbers show [Incident 40, July 7, 1947, 1600 hours, Phoenix, Ariz] Mr. Hewes reports.
An go through by John A. Clinton, for the Air State, adjudicated the photos were faked.
But William Spaulding of Ground Saucer Scrutiny disagreed, vocabulary that the Rhoades photos were bona fide, vetting a sizeable object (30/35 feet in diameter), about 4000 feet from Rhoade's [box] camera. The photos were conquered from him by two members of the intelligence kibbutz Rhoades held, and they were never returned or found, Rhoades attempting a rationale to entrance them, which was never brought to fruition.
The Rhoades story and photos appeal to a selection of concert party and contributors show, and I can see why; The date of the film making, the men in black, the underneath evaluations of trueness, the Arnold intimation, and Rhoades authority among other elements in this old fight.

I live in Rathdrum Idaho and it was 7/31/07: 10:20 pm. very clear skies, with no cloud cover and not wearing glasses.
I was just star gazing, looking to the eastern horizon saw a bright white cigar shape do some extremely fast left and right movements then it decended to about 3000 ft. and came my direction extremely fast and then it was stationary and about 2 to 3miles out and the same elevation.
I had nothing to use for scale to say how large it may be but I saw really good details of it. It changed color from bright white to a glittering silver and yellow or gold color. Have you ever seen someone wear a glitter jacket on t.v. when the lights are on it? it was attractive to look at.
It started to get much brighter, as it did,what looked like welders slag began to drip off both ends of the object pretty evenly. As it got brighter more hot metal as it appeared was falling at least 100 ft. or more, cooling off before it reached the ground. This went on for 2 or 3 minutes. Then it grew dimmer and less hot metal fell till it stopped all together and then proceeded N.E. at a pace much slower than when it showed up till it was out of my sight.
I went in into my house and started to write down everything just as it happened to get it all correct. I did report it to MUFON and to NUFON. MUFON was the one very interested in it and sent me a report packet and I returned it.
I live in the country where theres no aircraft except small planes. The next night about 09:00 pm and for the next 5 nights, I saw a military twin prop with a round radar disc on top like the AWAK or PVY flying back and forth in the same area I saw the object for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours each night. eversince I have been hunting for the same type of story everywhere to better understand it. Ive only found 2 that help a little. 1 at maury just outside tocoma Wa. 1947 and Rendleshaw with colonal Holt"s story 1980 I think. If you know more about it or other sightings simular, I would greatly like better understanding.
My Father was in the Navy 30yrs as a ADJ-C,and Ive seen alot of different aircraft, but nothing like this even close. Sorry I wrote a book here, I still get excited telling the story and promise you have the detailed truth as it unfolded.

History Channel - Original Air Date: April 2, 2008
The teaser for this show promises spectacular video images and compelling testimony by people claiming repeated contact with UFOs. The show begins with a brief explanation of SETIs search for extra-terrestrial life, and then moves on to the two alleged contactees. They speak to a former marine who claims to see strange lights more and more frequently, lights he claims are "not "aircraft from the nearby naval base. He and the investigators believe the objects are focusing on the marine, following him. The show notes that UFOs have been sighted in Chesapeake Bay since 1813. The marines first sightings involved chasing a blue orb that then split into two and became a triangular craft larger than the supermarket where hed parked his car while chasing the thing. At first, he thought it was a stealth aircraft, but it seemed too large. The following year, he had an encounter with two pulsating lights that seemed to follow his movements. The team promises to send his video (which looks "nothing "like the shows recreation -- and, in fact, looks much more conventional -- to an expert for analysis. One team member notes that the military base nearby could explain these encounters. (The most reasonable explanation given in this entire series.) The marine then relates an MIB type encounter, along with a "missing time" episode that seems more like a sleep paralysis incident. The lead investigator, of course, thinks the marine is being recruited, or is perhaps an alien-human hybrid. The marine admits to having a rare blood disease; the team doesnt follow up the idea that perhaps this condition could lead to some psychological problems -- such as seeing UFOs and suffering delusions. For once, one of the investigators calls out the lead man, Bill, for telling this marine he might be a hybrid. The team member insists the hybrid concept is way, way out, and might even be a harmful idea to lay on this struggling man.
The 2nd half of the show begins with a history of contactees through the centuries; oddly (or perhaps not), the contactees seem to only know about the planets known to science at the time. More recently, contacts have turned more sinister, including abductees and the Heavens Gate cult mass suicide. In Cleveland, the team interviews its second contactee. (The video proof of these contacts looks amazingly like terrestrial aircraft or other human-made objects.) The team doesnt believe the films to be of aircraft, as a nearby nuclear power plant makes the area a no-fly zone. No one mentions that airplane lights can be seen from a, long long way at night. One team member suggests that some of these images could be reflections within the camera, but naturally this idea is quickly dismissed. This witness is also seeing orbs and seems to have had sleep paralysis incidents as well, which he believes are alien surgeries. Video analysis includes a good explanation of several video problems -- but then concludes the lights dont seem normal. Video evidence doesnt seem to conclusively connect the two contactees, but they are both suffering from similar odd blood conditions. Rather than conclude that perhaps the medical condition is causing these peoples belief that they are being contacted, the team leader concludes that their alien contact is -- somehow -- causing their blood condition. (Despite a total lack of evidence.) The two men are then brought together to compare notes -- and to perhaps discuss future lawsuits against the team for practicing medicine and psychiatry without a license. As a skeptic, I have to ask of the believers: Is this the best you can do? Fuzzy images of lights in the darkness? Witnesses desperate for validation? Because if it is, Im not impressed. Your best photographic evidence looks like ordinary aircraft and video problems. Your best witnesses look like they could use a good shrink. (Im sure theyre very nice, away from the TV cameras.) On the aircraft, at least, one would think aliens could do better -- though clearly this show cannot.

Jamaican newspapers are reporting that frightened onlookers watched as a woman fights a ghost, only after she regained consciousness from the spirit, also called a duppy, knocking her out at her home earlier. Some residents in the Braeton, St. Catherine area of Jamaica ran in fear, others stood by speechless while watching the incident take place that some are saying was 'high drama'.
The entire incident began at approximately 7:00 p.m. local time when the woman was at home and reported later that she had been knocked unconscious by what was described as a 'strong force'. Once she woke up, she was seen fighting the ghost and kicking a nearby fence. One woman who witnessed the event described the apparition as being a short, bald and shirtless man.
It was reported that the woman's family came to the rescue and took her to a nearby gated community believing she would be safer, but later brought her back to the original location of the incident, that drew a large crowd, because the ghost was still tormenting her. Many of the witnesses didn't understand the logic behind the decision because 'ghosts can get through gates' and considered the move to be illogical. Since the incident, the female has been seen wondering around the town barefooted.
When questioned, many of the residents said they had never seen anything like this before and those that could see the ghost said it was following the woman wherever she went as people scattered away from her.

Scientists and astronomers all over the world are readying their equipment in preparation of the 'Comet of the Century' as it fast approaches our neck of the woods. Comet C/2012 S1, also known as comet ISON, is expected to be one of the brightest objects ever known to man to cross our skies (other than the sun, of course). The object will be visible in late November 2013 with the closest pass to Earth being November 28, 2013. The comet is said to be unusual primarily because of it's trajectory toward the inner solar system and just how close it will pass the sun.
One particular project of interest, BRRISON (Balloon Rapid Response for ISON) will send a helium filled balloon more than 20 miles above the surface of Earth for one day to capture images of the object that scientists say will be about as good as what the Hubble Space Telescope can get "at a tiny fraction of the cost", according to Eliot Young.
While many say that ISON will be a spectacular site, some scientists believe the 3 mile long comet will fizzle out before it nears earth and will create unusual meteor showers out of the more than 110,000 pounds of dust and 130 pounds of water it's losing every minute in space at the present time. Unfortunately, the majority of these meteor showers will not be visible to those of us on the ground without high tech equipment. Much of the debris can take as long as months or years to settle out of our atmosphere and fall towards the surface of the planet, while only a few bits will be visible to the naked eye.
