BBC3 DOCUMENTARY ON UFOS
Hi, we are a little late in posting this, since the initial email from the BBC was blocked either by our spam filter or the Men In Black.
BBC3 are currently producing a documentary which focuses on people who believe in UFOs. They want to hear from people who think that aliens have visited us on earth, and who may think that the government has been hiding evidence of visitations from the public.
They are offering five people the unique chance to take part in a two week road trip across America, where people will have the chance to explore their views and put them to the test.
The researchers for this new show thought this might be something some of that the poeple in Stirling might be interested in, given how many UFO sightings there are in the area. (We are assuming they have already contacted Billy Buchanan in Bonnybridge who is probably the best know person in the Stirlingshire area when it comes to UFOs).
BBC3 is a channel aimed at a young demographic audience, so the are looking for people to take part who are aged between 18 and 35. (Therefore ruling out the editors of StrangeStilrling.co.uk out).

Most people living on Earth are completely unaware that a solar day experienced on our Moon is 27.32 days. By sheer coincidence, that is also the exact period that it takes our Moon to rotate around the Earth. However, know that our Earth rotates once every 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4 seconds.
Because of this, exact synchronization we only see one side of the Earth's Moon and never in history have we ever witnessed seeing the backside of the Moon from an Earth view perspective.

NASA PLANS TO CRASH 2 PROBES INTO MOON
TWO NASA MOON PROBES WILL END THEIR GRAVITY-MAPPING MISSION IN SPECTACULAR FASHION MONDAY, CRASHING INTENTIONALLY INTO A CLIFF NEAR THE LUNAR NORTH POLE.
The twin Grail spacecraft, known as Ebb and Flow, will slam into the raised rim of a moon crater at 5:28 p.m. EST (2258 GMT) Monday, mission team members said Thursday. The probes will impact about 20 seconds apart, with each traveling at 3,760 mph or so.
The crash zone is far from any area where previous moon missions - such as NASA's Apollo efforts - touched down, so Grail's final moments won't endanger sites of historical importance, officials said.
A successful mission comes to an end
The 496 million Grail mission - short for Gravity Recovery and Interior Laboratory - launched in September 2011, and Ebb and Flow arrived in lunar orbit about three months later. The two probes have been zipping around the moon ever since, mapping its gravity field in unprecedented detail.
"Grail has produced the highest-resolution, highest-quality gravity field for any planet in the solar system, including Earth," Grail principal investigator Maria Zuber, of MIT, told reporters today. [Video: Ebb and Flow's Impending Crash]
That map has revealed an incredibly pulverized lunar crust, she added, suggesting that the moon, Earth, Mars, Mercury and Venus were pounded by long-ago impacts far more violently than previously thought.
Grail's primary science mission ran from March to May, during which the spacecraft zipped around the moon at an average altitude of 34 miles. Ebb and Flow dropped down to about 14 miles for an extended phase, which wraps up in the next few days and should make the gravity map even better.
There will be no more extended missions, because Ebb and Flow are almost out of fuel. The spacecraft will crash into the lunar surface eventually, so the Grail team is bringing them down in a controlled fashion. (An uncontrolled crash would pose an eight-in-a-million risk of hitting a heritage site, researchers said.)
"This is all according to plan," Zuber said.
A little bit of science left
On Friday morning, mission managers will turn off Ebb and Flow's science instruments and order a maneuver that puts the probes on course for the rim of the crater, which sits at a latitude of 75.62 degrees north and a longitude of 26.63 degrees east.
On Monday, the low-flying spacecraft will hit the wall of rock head-on, at an angle of just 1 degree or so above the horizontal. The spacecraft will blast out small holes in the rim but leave little of themselves behind.
"They're going to be completely blown apart at the time," said Grail mission manager David Lehman of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.
The violent demise of Ebb and Flow should provide mission scientists with some information about the mechanical properties of the crater rim, perhaps shedding further light on lunar composition.
It's also possible that the probes' impact will expel water ice or other volatiles into the wispy lunar atmosphere, where they can be detected by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. Indeed, LRO has been studying the crash site and will attempt to do so again during and after the impact, researchers said.
But the Grail team doesn't necessarily expect to see ice. The crater rim is in sunlight much of the time, and the spacecraft just aren't big enough to kick up much ejecta.
And skywatchers shouldn't get their hopes up for a view of the impact from their backyards.
Ebb and Flow are "washer-and-dryer-size spacecraft with empty fuel tanks," Zuber said. "So we're not expecting a flash that is visible from Earth."

UFO SIGHTING IN LIVONIA, MICHIGAN ON JUNE 29TH 2013 - 3 REDDISH ORANGE OBJECTS FLYING THROUGH THE SKY, APPEARING ONE AT A TIME AND LEAVING ONE AT A TIME.It was just before 3:30 in the morning when my friends and I were in my back yard. I had just mentioned to them that it seemed unusually bright out for the time of night that it was. We heard a loud boom that seemed like it was coming from the south (our left). It sounded like an M-80 went off, or something bigger. We looked to the north (out right) and saw a big flash of light from behind a tree. Immediately after the flash something that looked like a reddish-orange fireball appeared from behind the tree (from our vantage point) and began to move through the sky above us. It did not fit any description of any aircraft we've ever seen or know of. It didn't keep a straight path, but would zig and zag, while still moving in the general direction of going south. It even stopped and hovered in the sky at one point. While our eyes were transfixed on the hovering orb-like object, a second object with the same appearance came out from the same area as the first one. When that happened the first object continued moving south. A third object (with the same appearance) then appeared and joined the second object. They "flew" close together while the first object continued moving south and disappeared into the clouds. The remaining two then began moving in that direction, still with a zig-zag pattern and periodically stopping, until they too disappeared into the clouds. The entire experience was only a few minutes. The objects made no noise while they were in the sky. The only noise we heard was the initial boom sound. History Channel - Original Air Date: April 2, 2008
The teaser for this show promises spectacular video images and compelling testimony by people claiming repeated contact with UFOs. The show begins with a brief explanation of SETIs search for extra-terrestrial life, and then moves on to the two alleged contactees. They speak to a former marine who claims to see strange lights more and more frequently, lights he claims are "not "aircraft from the nearby naval base. He and the investigators believe the objects are focusing on the marine, following him. The show notes that UFOs have been sighted in Chesapeake Bay since 1813. The marines first sightings involved chasing a blue orb that then split into two and became a triangular craft larger than the supermarket where hed parked his car while chasing the thing. At first, he thought it was a stealth aircraft, but it seemed too large. The following year, he had an encounter with two pulsating lights that seemed to follow his movements. The team promises to send his video (which looks "nothing "like the shows recreation -- and, in fact, looks much more conventional -- to an expert for analysis. One team member notes that the military base nearby could explain these encounters. (The most reasonable explanation given in this entire series.) The marine then relates an MIB type encounter, along with a "missing time" episode that seems more like a sleep paralysis incident. The lead investigator, of course, thinks the marine is being recruited, or is perhaps an alien-human hybrid. The marine admits to having a rare blood disease; the team doesnt follow up the idea that perhaps this condition could lead to some psychological problems -- such as seeing UFOs and suffering delusions. For once, one of the investigators calls out the lead man, Bill, for telling this marine he might be a hybrid. The team member insists the hybrid concept is way, way out, and might even be a harmful idea to lay on this struggling man.
The 2nd half of the show begins with a history of contactees through the centuries; oddly (or perhaps not), the contactees seem to only know about the planets known to science at the time. More recently, contacts have turned more sinister, including abductees and the Heavens Gate cult mass suicide. In Cleveland, the team interviews its second contactee. (The video proof of these contacts looks amazingly like terrestrial aircraft or other human-made objects.) The team doesnt believe the films to be of aircraft, as a nearby nuclear power plant makes the area a no-fly zone. No one mentions that airplane lights can be seen from a, long long way at night. One team member suggests that some of these images could be reflections within the camera, but naturally this idea is quickly dismissed. This witness is also seeing orbs and seems to have had sleep paralysis incidents as well, which he believes are alien surgeries. Video analysis includes a good explanation of several video problems -- but then concludes the lights dont seem normal. Video evidence doesnt seem to conclusively connect the two contactees, but they are both suffering from similar odd blood conditions. Rather than conclude that perhaps the medical condition is causing these peoples belief that they are being contacted, the team leader concludes that their alien contact is -- somehow -- causing their blood condition. (Despite a total lack of evidence.) The two men are then brought together to compare notes -- and to perhaps discuss future lawsuits against the team for practicing medicine and psychiatry without a license. As a skeptic, I have to ask of the believers: Is this the best you can do? Fuzzy images of lights in the darkness? Witnesses desperate for validation? Because if it is, Im not impressed. Your best photographic evidence looks like ordinary aircraft and video problems. Your best witnesses look like they could use a good shrink. (Im sure theyre very nice, away from the TV cameras.) On the aircraft, at least, one would think aliens could do better -- though clearly this show cannot.

I was cookin up some bacon, gettin ready for Sunday mornin possum roast, when I looked out the kitchen winder and saw a bunch of lights in the sky. They were differnt colors and they kinda hovered at first over the paint creek area. Then one by one they came toard town. At the end a few of em came up all at once and took of in formation together. I turned to ma and said, "what the f is going on? I mean what the f is going on?" Then they was gone.

Dr Mitchell, a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission, who, along with commander Alan Shepard holds the record for the longest-ever moon walk during the 1971 mission, said yesterday that extra-terrestrials had paid repeated visits to our planet but the encounters were kept secret by government agencies.
NASA officials were quick to dismiss the suggestion of a cover-up.
Dr Mitchell has made similar claims previously and is a self-proclaimed devotee of paranormal phenomena.
"I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we've been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomena is real," Dr Mitchell said.
"It's been covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it's leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it.
"I've been in military and intelligence circles, who know that beneath the surface of what has been public knowledge, yes - we have been visited."
He said the aliens were similar to the traditional image, having a small frame, large eyes and head.
He claimed our technology was "not as sophisticated" as theirs and "had they been hostile we would be been gone by now".

From the west going east I see chopper lights and strobe then notice aircraft about fifty feet below chopper had no strobe and was a solid green color, as they passed just north of my house I saw the lower craft was not a chopper it was oval shaped about third size of chopper and was a soft green color. Then object stopped dead in its track in an instant,as quick as it stopped it headed north and upward until I could barely see it I notice it looked like it was descending downward it seemed to be a slow descent but could not keep eyesight on object was to small and far away. Feeling were of overwhelmed at the speed of craft and how it could stop dead turn 90 degrees in an instant.

The occurrence was immediately identified to be an "intergalactic one" as the clouds really looked like UFO space ships.

I never heard of this unexplained phenomenon, called "The Tinley Park Lights", that happened over the Chicago area a few years back. But I found this article with interesting eyewitness accounts.

This summer, some Tinley Park residents will be watching the night sky for Unexplained Flying Objects, and say others in the Southland should too.
After all, the communities of Tinley Park, Orland Park, Frankfort, and Mokena hold bragging rights for one of the most well-documented, unexplained UFO events in the nation: the "Tinley Park Lights."
Tinley Park Patch interviewed local eyewitnesses and experts about this phenomenon, which includes several sightings of three lights in a triangular pattern, dating from Aug. 21, 2004.
Sam Maranto, State Director of Illinois MUFON said the first in the series of the Tinley Park Lights events had optimum conditions for eyewitnesses.
"The night of the 21st was beautiful, people were outside, there were parties all over," said Maranto, who lives near Orland Park.
Traffic was jammed up outside Tinley's er Center (now known as First Midwest bank Amphitheater, where Ozzfest had just ended, and thousands of concertgoers were headed home.
"There were a lot of people outside that night, hundreds if not thousands," said Maranto. "People were able to see and record what was going on."
Tinley resident Bill Dooley, 48, said he recalls that evening vividly. He's the former owner of Alsip-based Fine Oak Furniture.
It was a great August evening, with a lot of people who were out in my neighborhood; we were watching the Bears preseason game on TV," Dooley said, noting that it was about 10 p.m. "My neighbor yelled to look up."
Dooley pulled his attention away from the game, and said he was stunned by what he saw. "If you can imagine three bright lights coming at you, in single file, for about 20 minutes."
Dooley said he and several others living near the Tinley Downs Shopping Center watched the mystery lights hover together in one place despite the wind, and made no audible sound.
"Our houses are backed up to each other, and they were coming right down the middle," he said. "They seemed to have stopped, they went to a single-file line to stacked up on top of each other, then they went into a triangle form," said Dooley.
"There was absolutely no sound. They formed their triangle and started to move away again, stacked on top of each other, they turned white and were gone," he said.
After they disappeared, about 45 minutes later, a single very bright light came by itself, said Dooley.
"Once they were gone, everybody was trying to figure out what we just saw," he said. "A red light came down the same path and did the same thing."
"It made no noise, it floated very slowly right over the tops of all our houses," Dooley said. "It appeared to stop and start again, turned right and disappeared."
Eyewitness T.J. Japcon said he and his two young sons, Justin and Jake, were at a neighborhood block party that night on Dorothy Lane, not far from the 174th and Harlem intersection.
Justin, then 8, urged everyone to look up, recalled Japcon.
"I was just in awe, you've never seen anything like it before," he said. "It shuts you up. You know it's not a helicopter, you know it's not an airplane.
Like Dooley, Japcon recalled the event as quiet and still.
"You could hear dogs barking," he said. "There were three lights out of the southwest, moved northeast, stopped literally right above us in a triangle pattern," Japcon said.
At one point, a Tinley Park Polica officer in a marked squad drove by, and neighbors asked him about the lights, recalled Japcon.
"He just said he didn't know what was going on, but he was keeping his radio open because dispatch was getting calls," he said.
Japcon ran inside and grabbed his Samsung camcorder. The footage he shot that night would be shared with Sam Maranto of MUFON, and eventually featured on the History Channel in episode 201 of UFO Hunters: "Invasion Illinois."
"SECOND SIGHTING THAT HALLOWEEN"
Yet, the sightings weren't over.
About two months later on Halloween night, 2004, Japcon again saw the same set of lights, which were once again witnessed by many residents, from parents running errands to tardy trick-or-treaters.
"I thought it was pretty cool, it was something you thought you were never going to see it again, and all of a sudden, they're back," recalled Japcon.
As time goes by, this interesting chapter in Southland history is fading for some, said Japcon.
"It's falling through the cracks, just like all other sightings, it just fades like a ripple on a pond," said Japcon. "It's probably the neatest thing I've seen."
