As the "deer" crossed the road in front of me, I was just clearing the bend and could see the road ahead.
I immediately saw the glowing Kashmir blue light brightly emanating from the "mask/helmet/face" of a tall "man" standing on the left side of the road. "He" must have stood seven feet tall or more. The "deer" ran up to the "man" and stopped directly in front of "him".

12:48am Olive Branch, MS Unidentified flying object 2-26-2015 (In CST just after midnight) Filmed outside my back door after seeing it from my bedroom window. Sorry it's so shaky, but it's snowing and cold outside & I was in a hurry, & barefooted in the snow. :-/I am a 15+ year ufologist in the Memphis Metro area, & although I have seen things I can't explain, this is the first one with evidence worthy of reporting from my own experiences. For this particular incident, I've been seeing bright lights in that same location for several nights in the last week, but it was after I went to bed and not compelling enough to warrant running outside. It snowed yesterday, so it made it easier to see last night, and the craft was much closer, much brighter, and very visible. I ran outside at 12:46AM CST and began filming. It was hovering very low over an area with corn fields. I observed it hovering for about 20 minutes, but it was too cold outside and I ran out straight from bed with no shoes on in the snow, therefore, I could only film for a short time. After about 20 minutes it seemed to just flight path was hovering and pulsating lights that appeared to have a red glow at times. It appeared to be one very large triangular aircraft, and it was hovering so low that it had a 3-D effect when viewing. I would estimate it to have been about the size of a football field, or larger. There were times when it appeared to have ejected smaller orb lights, but that is unclear. It was difficult to tell from my vantage point whether it was part of the larger craft, or additional smaller craft. The United Nations Charter states the purpose of the organization. I believe that the importance of the UN in First Contact applies to every possible scenario, from scientists discovering a mysterious and cryptic engineered signal, to high information First Contact and even further to Direct First Contact. The one end of the spectrum, discovery of a signal, would allow more time for deliberation and consideration. Direct First Contact, an extraterrestrial representative visiting Earth, would require a rapid response and a solid framework of diplomacy.
The UN has six primary parts. They include the General Assembly, Security Council and Secretariat. The first group that would need to consider First Contact issues would be the Security Council. This body is charged with determining threats to international peace and maintaining international peace and security. No matter what the form of First Contact security is the primary issue at hand. How immediate the threat depends on the type of First Contact and that's directly tied to proximity. Discovery of a signal is low on the threat level because the alien civilization is most likely many light years away. Direct First Contact has a high degree of threat. 4. The planet Earth is the sacred home of human beings.
5. Life on Earth should not be interfered with or manipulated by outside beings.
6. Humans have a right to determine how First Contact proceeds.
7. Humans should determine what type of information they want to receive about the outside universe and the method of dissemination.
8. The resources of the planet Earth are the property of citizens of Earth.
9. The solar system of Earth is the property and home of citizens of Earth.
10. Humans can decide which beings can enter their solar system and under what conditions.
11. Humans can decide which beings can enter Earth atmosphere and under what conditions.
12. Humans will enter into the larger known universe as productive and responsible citizens.
13. Humans will decide exactly how that entry into the larger known universe proceeds.
14. Humans will expect honesty from all parties interacting with the citizens of planet Earth.
15. Humans will demand honesty and forthright disclosure of any past interactions between alien civilizations and people of the planet Earth.
The Security Council would also need to be responsible for taking the initial steps in coordinating the official welcome. This would ultimately fall to the Secretariat in planning and organization. The Secretariat carries out the day-to-day functions and actions of the United Nations. The welcome itself would reasonably be expected to be given to the General Assembly, the body that provides representation for nations on Earth. A welcome from an extraterrestrial contingent should be made to all nations and the General Assembly would provide the means to do so.
There are two sub-sets of the United Nations that should be involved in the initial diplomatic needs of First Contact. The Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) is the only body charged with consideration of space related matters. While the focus has been on controlling armament issues in Earth orbit and outer space, the group also has a role in determining possible threats from Near Earth Objects. They are the only committee that has a role in extraterrestrial issues.
The specific group working under the COPUOS umbrella is the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA). The office was initially created to provide expertise on space related matters. They are now charged with implementing the decisions of COPUOS and the General Assembly. First Contact response by the international community would be an incredibly complicated effort, involving many groups and spanning a broad swath of human society. However, it has to start somewhere and the only group set up to consider such issues is UNOOSA. The current director, Malaysian Astrophysicist Mazlan Othman, has considered First Contact issues and seems to understand the need for United Nations involvement.
There are those who would dispute the notion that the United Nations is the appropriate body to lead efforts in response to First Contact. This seems an arguable point now in pure speculation and yet when faced with the actual prospect I can't imagine the argument would continue to hold weight. First Contact has inherent threat, both from the motives of the extraterrestrials and in the reactions here on Earth. To respond as a bunch of independent nations, each with a different voice and a different message seems foolish and dangerous. The United Nations is the only body that currently exists that can carry out the necessary coordinated response. I would imagine there will still be a great deal of debate among nations in regards to how diplomacy proceeds After First Contact. The UN would provide the ability to hear those differences and develop a plan of action. All of humanity has the right to participate in this process and the United Nations provides representation to do such.
A leadership role for the UN does not mean that other groups and organizations will be left on the sidelines. The scientific community is represented by a number of organizations that should work closely with the UN in guidance. The International Academy of Astronautics, NASA and the SETI Institute are just a few examples. The UN will need the help. The organization has done little to prepare for First Contact issues. The expertise lies with the scientific community and the small group of astrophysicists and other researchers who have taken the matter seriously.
In the long-term there would probably need to be changes in the nature of the United Nations, especially in terms of organization and scope. Those changes may need to be quite substantive. Still, the effort must start somewhere and the UN is the only group that can respond to the initial needs and challenges of First Contact.

I have to make this very short and sweet, since I really need to be doing a lot of other things at the moment. But I wanted to get this out there.One of my Christmas-Solstice-Festivus books arrived today; Colin Bennett's book about George Adamski: Looking for Orthon; the story of George Adamski, the first flying saucer contactee, and HOW he CHANGED the WORLD. Bennett, for those who don't know,(and really, you all should) writes very, very well on Forteana. Not just the fun, juicy Fortean stuff like rains of frogs and flying saucers that look like your great grandmother's chandeliers, but Forteana itself. The phenomena/non "as" a phenomena/non.(I've commented before that it seems to me, in some ways, that Bennett isn't appreciated enough. Maybe that's just me. For example, his article in the December issue of UFO Magazine. Where "was" everyone on that?)I'm not far into this book; just got past the introduction so far. Bennett said this in regards to why we shouldn't dismiss Adamski as a kook, and be done with it. No, no no. There's more to it than that simplistic, dichotomous response:" We need him [Adamski] if only because his views are quite wonderfully absurd."When I read that, I realized, in one of those 'click' moments, why it is I still hold an affection for the Contactees of the 1950s and '60s, why I still kind of, "sort" of, like the Raelians (even while, not) why the Pamela Stonebrookes and all the others that are obviously goofy appeal to me. Even while acknowledging they are probably, a good many of them, hucksters, what about the ones who "aren't"? Like the ones who merge UFOs, aliens, Jesus, and angels all together? Or the woman who told me a story so many years ago now of a woman living in a rural part of Oregon, and the aliens took her baby -- and left a "lobster baby" in its place. Those who are sincere and honest when they tell us the dippy, crazy, out there stories. Yes,sure, a lot of them might be mad, suffering from depression, etc. but that's not the point. It is on the mundane level, and if they need help they need to get it; but "still. Still" there is the "fact" of them, and within their experiences, which have become our experiences, having witnessed them, there is more. There are reminders and messages, symbols and events. A tweaking, teasing tugging at our reality. We can choose to brush it off as mere rantings or silliness. Or go the other way and ignore all caution while diving headfirst as "'bleevers." But there's another option. To appreciate it and value it, even to, if nothing else, "acknowledge" it.And Colin Bennett put it very simply: we do need the Adamskis of the world, for a lot of reasons, and being "wonderfully absurd" is one of them.I don't know if Bennett uses the phrase "Trickster" but that is another reason for this affection towards the seemingly ridiculous. Well, they are ridiculous, but that's not the end of the story. "If" one believes, as I do, that UFOlogy also is chock full of Tricksterism, Bennett's comment makes sense. What many within UFO studies forget, or, don't acknowledge in the first place, is this inherent force within UFOlogy. It reminds me of something I read some months ago (it might have been Bennett who said it, or someone else altogether, I don't know. If anyone does let me know) and that is, in commenting about Fortean Times taking away the Forteana and becoming skeptics, including towards UFOs, they said something like:Putting the Fortean back into UFOlogy, or, maybe it was putting UFOlogy back into Forteana. Okay, that made better sense the way I remember it. If anyone knows what I mean let me know. :) (I'm a Pisces, just go with it.)I have more good books on the way; it's going to be a fun New Year!

"IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM THE VIKE FACTOR"
Due to the huge amount of sighting reports that do come in on a regular basis, I had to make a hard decision as to what I wanted to do.
I can't keep up with the reports that come in, plus I certainly am not getting any younger, and I don't want to spend every waking hour at the computer which I just can't do anymore.
I took a little time to do some thinking, and I have decided to accept and investigate Canadian UFO sightings only. I live in Canada and figured this would be the best for myself.
This will slow things down greatly, which is needed and gives me more time for myself, family and to spend the proper amount of time looking into Canadian sightings I receive.
There are a lot of UFO reporting websites out there on the internet that folks from the United States and the rest of the world can file to. I really don't want to do this, but this is the way I will have to go.

Recently, I have been reading Hugh Ross's "Why the Universe Is the "Way It Is" (Baker, 2008) (which I will review). Ross heads up Reasons to Believe, an Christian apologetics ministry aimed at scientists, based in Pasadena, California. He notes,
After 60 years of investigation into several million UFO reports, researchers have concluded that 90 to 99 percent of all UFO sightings are, in fact, IFOs. Identifiable flying objects include natural phenomena, human-made (often experimental) aircraft, pranksters' hoaxes, and psychological phenomena. Of the remaining 1 to 10 percent, scientists have found no credible evidence (such as crash debris or physical artifacts) indicating that these sightings involve physical craft, with or without beings on board.
The publication of the Condon Report on Project Blue Book in 1969 did little, if anything, to quell public speculation about alien visitors, which continues unabated. However, subsequent rigorous interdisciplinary studies yave yielded sufficient data to demonstrate that at least some of the residual (still unidentified 1-10 percent) UFOs are "real" and yet not tangible, or physical, in nature. They may be categorized as occult or nonphysical manifestations. (P. 59) In other words, we have no idea what they are, but we don't know a reason to think they are Drake and Sagan's extraterrestrial intelligences.
One thing I find really interesting is that, contrary to a carefuly cultivated stereotype, it is the theists and non-materialists who are the skeptics, while materialists indulge in theories that erase space and time, and multiply universes ad lib.

A report of over 100 triangle UFO sightings has been submitted to MUFON.

By means of the earlier few monthes begining in Summer of 2009, I call closely witenessed atleast 130+ sightings of 'black triangles' positively in my head yard. I cherish that yeah, I should've reported one and all and each and every one sighting, and I had planned too, but these reports precise awhile to obstruct out and Ive seen them so heaps grow old Ive bend used to seeing them. Ive seen 4 of them flying on one after diverse creatively the night sky. Cool alike the first time I saw one, I was cargo my dog outside to potty. Immeditally I saw the formidable light in the interval and credited it as a triangle. I chained the dog up and as interminably I stayed to watch it fly over. Unlike other triangles, the formidable light on the head didnt go off; it was clearly visable that it was a park of 3 amber/white lights on the head. Point of 500-600ft, stirring South-to-North.

No, I am not married to an alien (even though I have speculated here in the past that my wife "could "be a human-alien hybrid by virtue of her smashing good looks and flawless fashion sense). Nor am I promoting human-alien marriages, although if a human and alien could only truly be happy married to each other, why would I object to that? I mean, who wouldn't want to be invited to "that "wedding? I only bring up the topic of human-alien marriage because it came up at the Burlington Vortex Conference two months ago, and I think it's something that people should know about.As I have chronicled here at "High Strangeness", I heard a great many wondrous and astounding stories at the Vortex Conference, and I have marveled at the fact that these astounding stories are bandied about at a UFO conference in such a casual, offhand manner that one soon accepts it as all quite normal.But here's the thing: it's not. When you hear a guy stating in complete sincerity that his son's new wife fled to the US from Brazil because she discovered her first husband was an alien, and that aliens have been chasing her ever since to try to silence her, and when the people listening to that story nod knowingly as though every family had such problems, it's hard to accept that any of it is even remotely normal.I would have loved to have heard more, but that would have meant engaging the guy in conversation, and I knew I wasn't ready for that. So I'm left with questions. How do you divorce an alien? Was the marriage even legal in the first place? Why would the aliens care what she might say to anyone? Couldn't they guess that the story would only be told at places like the Burlington Vortex Conference? On a related note, I have finally secured the contact list for the people who were on the Haunted Woods Tour at the Conference, and who witnessed the two UFOs that flew towards us and disappeared into the night sky... It should be interesting to hear what people remember of that incident, and "how "they remember it. Stay tuned...

OCTOBER 25, 2013 - UNITED STATES - Newspaper headlines on July 27, 1860, announced that a sectarian civil war had just broken out in Syria between the oppressed Druses and the region's dominant Christian sect.

In the United States, Abraham Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, John Breckinridge and John Bell were campaigning for president.
In New York City, many people were at their windows and doors seeking relief from the day's sweltering heat. The sky was clear, except for the occasional vivid flash of sheet lighting. At about 9:30 p.m., the sleepy evening's peace was broken by an unexpected great luminance in the sky and the appearance of two great red balls of fire silently passing overhead. The local press called them "Chariots of Fire."
The New York Evening Post reported that the flaming objects moved too slowly to be meteors, as it took nearly a minute for the objects to cross the sky. Observers stated that the objects appear to be as large as dinner plates with trails that appeared to be about 10 feet long.
In Philadelphia, reports described objects the size of a full moon as they blazed across the sky. The reporter noted that the motion was not as fast as expected of a meteor, but certainly faster than anything man made.
In the nineteenth century, Washington, D.C., was a sleepy southern town. The Washington Star reported the blazing objects to be about 10 degrees of elevation off of the horizon. The account further reported that the two objects coming from the northeast faded into a cloud bank and that the whole sighting lasted about 30 seconds.
The Norfolk Day Book newspaper, in Virginia, pronounced the event as "... a strange and beautiful display...," and "... exceedingly brilliant..." It described the two balls of fire as resembling a pair of "dumb bells." In that era, dumb bells were cast iron gym weights that were round balls separated by a hand hold. The Norfolk sighting ended when the fire balls entered a sizable cloud bank.
Finally, on Saturday morning, The New York Evening Post reported that the two objects had also been sighted in Albany and along the Hudson River valley.
All through the newspaper accounts, the reporters refer to the two fire balls as moving fast from the northeast towards the southeast. Most of the articles also note that the event wasn't as fast as one might expect from a typical meteor.
Most of us who have seen meteors know that such events are usually "Oh My" moments that briefly appear and are gone in the blink of an eye. In the research I have done, most meteors and small asteroids enter our atmosphere at between 20,000 and 50,000 mph. Space craft in low Earth orbit typically fly at about 17,600 mph. The near Earth asteroid that entered the atmosphere over Chelyabinsk, Russia, in February came in at an estimated 41,000 mph, or 60 times the speed of sound. At that speed in the high atmosphere, a pressure wave forms in front of the meteor and forces it to explode. In Russia, that explosion occurred at about 76,000 feet and had an explosive force of about 440 kilotons of TNT, or about 25 times that of the Hiroshima atom bomb. The Russian asteroid was in their sky for mere seconds as you might expect from a meteor.
I did some very rough math to calculate the speed of the 19th century New York City "Chariots of Fire." OK, some assumptions: A bright object on a clear night at 10 degrees off the horizon could easily be seen 30 miles out. So we'll assume a 60- mile flight path across the horizon. The New York Star reporter said that the event was in the NYC skies for about a minute. A 60-mile window for 60 seconds would give us a rough speed of 3,600 mph. That speed divided by the average speed-of-sound in air of 770 mph would suggest that the two fire balls were flying at about Mach 4.7, or nearly five times the speed of sound. That is very slow for a meteor, but that speed is typical of a space craft like the space shuttle or the Russian Soyuz capsule still in its high altitude phase of its re-entry.
Also, if you take into account the time window the fire balls were observed over the 460 airline miles between Albany and Norfolk, Va., the whole transit time would have taken about seven and a half minutes. This is consistent with the loose time around 9:30 p.m. each of the newspapers reported.
For my money, I would wager that the 1860 balls of fire over the East Coast were a pair of space craft entry events.
Let's look at some October sightings in our New York Skies:
* Oct 1: At about 10:45 p.m. near Middle Island (Long Island), roundish orange/yellow fiery balls of light were reported that made no sound and that moved quickly across the night sky from the northwest to southeast.
* Oct 2: At about 10 p.m., a Naval veteran was driving down state Route 5 near Caledonia and witnessed a large triangular craft as it passed overhead about 500 feet off the ground. The craft was reported to be the size of a passenger jet. It rotated, turned 90 degrees to the right and silently vanished.
* Oct 9: At about 7 p.m., three Bronx residents witnessed a group of up to 15 red/orange lights in the sky for about 10 minutes, before they just disappeared.
* Oct 11: At about 8:45 p.m., a Rochester couple was coming home from the grocery store and noticed a very large, bright, star-like object hovering in the sky below the cloud cover. They indicated it winked out then reappeared in about the same spot.
* Oct 11: At about 9 p.m., a Fayetteville resident reported a brilliant white chevron with no blinking lights silently traveling to the northwest. This white light changed to pink.
* Oct 12: At about 1 p.m., a trained observer in Owego witnessed a disc-like object flying from the southwest to the northeast over the western horizon by the village of Owego. The object made no sound and had no visible wings. Shortly afterward, a second object of similar configuration was observed flying from the east to the northwest near Binghamton, but at a higher altitude.
* Oct 14: At about 2:15 p.m., a Peekskill resident observed a silvery/gray oval or egg-shaped object at high altitude moving across the sky for eight to 10 minutes before it vanished.
