Kansas Locals Abuzz Over Possible Ufo Mystery Craft Towed Through Town
By Neal J Leitereg, HULIQResidents in Cowley County, Kansas are not quite sure what they saw being towed down US 77 this past week, but many of them have speculated that the "mystery craft" hidden beneath a tarp could be a fallen unidentified flying object."There was this funny sphere that went through on this big trailer and my first thought was, 'That looks like a UFO," Cowley County resident Kammi Root told local television affiliate "ABC7".Sheriff Don Read, who was contacted by the transport company used to move the 32-foot aircraft via a flatbed trailer, said that there was certainly an air of mystery to the whole situation, especially considering he was asked to keep news of aircraft to a minimal."They told us that it was an aircraft and that they had explored other ways to transport it but this was the best way for them to do it and they asked us not to say a whole lot about it," said Read.Despite attempts to conceal the aircraft, there was no way to hide the massive transport from the public as the possible UFO was escorted by police through parts of Cowley County for roughly one hour. While a few reports have claimed that the aircraft is a Navy drone or an experimental aircraft designed by Northrop Grumman, Cowley County residents are not sure what to make of the dull gray vehicle decorated with a series of flashing red lights on the exterior."People were calling in saying, 'Oh they think they found a flying saucer. It looks like a flying saucer to us and we don't know for sure what it is,'" said Donetta Godsey with the "Winfield Daily Courier".
