"We spent some time in the desert up there doing aerial gunnery. We'd go out to Naval Air Station Fallon [in western Nevada]. They said, 'Look, at the end of your flying time, go out here on this radial and DME mileage from the station and just orbit there and wait for further instructions.' So, we'd go out there and check in on our frequency at this place we were supposed to be at over the desert.
"And then we'd check in and they'd say, 'OK look out five miles at 10,000 feet and tell us what you see.'
"Well, it was a MiG, and so we'd go join up on him and fly along with him, and then we'd split up and do simulated combat for a couple of turns. And that was over Area 51 -- right over the top of the base out there at Groom Lake -- the big dry lake, you couldn't miss it. And that's where we ended up doing a few combat turns and air-to-air dogfighting with the MiGs. We did that a couple of times and it was always very interesting."
Palmer said he recognized the MiGs from his earlier, intense combat missions over North Vietnam.
"[The MiGs over Area 51] were reengineered and they had U.S. stars and bars on them. I remember that very distinctly. It was a very odd thing because I'd seen a couple in combat in Vietnam with Vietnamese insignias instead and it scared the daylights out of you."

So, word started getting out in the public in spite of the deep compartmentalization of that story -- it still was getting out in pieces, here and there."

Despite the declassification of specific information related to Area 51, Palmer says the activity and secrecy is ongoing out at the military site.
"There are still people working up there every day. There are still flights of planes that go up there every day. There's still probably a great deal of secret stuff that's happening up there. I'm pretty sure that it's all for really good national defense purposes."
And Palmer has decided to expand and extend the Area 51 exhibit at the National Atomic Testing Museum for at least another year.

I went for a night run at around 9:30pm and I was looking at the sky observing the stars that I could see. There were no clouds around at the time so the airspace was clear with nothing blocking my vision of the stars. Then suddenly I saw in the corner of my eye a dark blue oval shaped object emitting a light that was bright enough for anyone to see. At first I thought it would have been a plane but given the speed and colour of the light beam and how it appeared there was no way it was human. The light was not just on whatever was there the light actually came out. I would describe it as almost like some sort of lighting scan from whatever was in the sky. The light lasted approximately 1.5-2.0 seconds and then once the light beam ended it quickly disappeared not leaving any trail what so ever or sound. After that there was no more sight of the object it just disappeared into thin air.I felt confused as there was no logical explanation as to what I saw but there were no mental or physical changes to how I felt. The street lights and my phone did not have any effect from this either.

When i was about 11-12 years in 2001/02 can't remember the year my mother had a bad fall and we went to the hospital. At around midnight we got out of the taxi at our house and I it was a clear night as I remember. Being the only other person in I decided to sit and listen the radio mains powered with headphones on in my room. It must have been past midnight or 1.00am. Suddenly the radio station I was listening to disappeared like a hoover or microwave had been switched on next to me. I had the urge to run to my bedroom window I still don't know why I did this perhaps because I thought a helicopter might be passing over. I then looked up and seen the start of a low flying triangle passing at low altitude I don't remember hearing any noise. It had 3 big white lights at each tip and a larger pulsating red one in the middle of it. I watched it glide over other people's homes before it west off into the distance while all I could see was the flashing red light in the far distance. I knew this was not a type of winged aircraft as It would have been dangerously low and the airspeed would have stalled the plane. It was too big to be a helicopter and considering they make noise what I seen didn't.

UFO SIGHTING IN LULING, TEXAS ON NOVEMBER 26TH 2013 - GOT CALL ABT 2 UFO, IN THE S/SE HEARD SWISH/WHIR SOUND, DOGS HOWLING IN SEVERAL DIRECTIONS, SAW 3 GREEISH LIGHT LIKE A SHOOTING STAR GOING S/SW, UFO LIGHTS SHAPED LIKE ARROW WITH TIP POINTING E. A BRIGHT FLASHING LIGHT WAS MOVING FROM THE N/NW TO S/SW
Received a call stating 2 ufo were in the sky, went outside, in the south/southeast heard swish/whir sound, dogs howling from serveal directions. There was a bright strobe like light flashing from the north/northwest moving south by southwest, appeared lower to the ground. After being outside awhile we walked heading west looking in the sky, the caller said they were still in sight. Just before coming in, on three occasions saw three greeish light shooting from high in the sky going south/southwest downward, they looked like a shooting star, fading the closer it came to the ground, speed was very fast. The ufo was high in the sky, south, the lights of it made a shape like an arrow with the tip pointing east, the shaped changed or moved. Got to cold went inside after 20 minutes or so, the shape was still in the sky. The noise (heard in the south/southeast)had stopped maybe 5 minutes are so of being outside, the bright flashing light in the north disapeared after ten minutes or so. Another person's account thought the ufo was like a group of glesting stars moving from east to west very slowly. All three of us observed the shooting orb type light and the ufo had moved in location.
